Healthy diet 'can work alongside natural skincare to create beauty'

Those looking for a healthy appearance should make sure they use natural skincare products and lead a good lifestyle, a leading salon has claimed.

Kirsty Jewson, a beauty guru at Saks, suggested that diet can have a key role to play in helping people to look their best.

She highlighted the importance of eating enough essential fatty acids, which can be found in oily fish and flax seeds, as these can help natural skincare fans to make the most of their appearance.

Natural skincare fans should also try and eat more antioxidants such as spinach, greens and berries, as these can help reduce the appearance of ageing and any inflammation.

'[This] is extremely beneficial for acne-prone skin,' she explained.

Ms Jewson said: 'You are what you eat, so as well as a good skincare routine, you should look at what foods you are eating.'

Recent research by the Good Surgeon Guide found that one third of women hoping to improve their appearance during 2010 intend to do so by improving their diet, with 17 per cent intending to make more of an effort with their skincare regime, which could include using more natural skincare products.ADNFCR-2885-ID-19549531-ADNFCR
