Expert: Take time when applying red lipstick

Red lipstick is a must this weekend, but ladies should ensure that the natural makeup product does not slip off across the evening.

Low-maintenance ladies should plump for a matte look, which is bolder but likely to stay put for longer, while glossy lipsticks will need reapplying.

Lisa Eldridge told the Metro that it just takes a few steps to apply lipstick which will stay put, adding that ladies need to prepare their lips before putting on the natural makeup.

After moisturising and exfoliating the lips, ladies need to get their hands on a lip brush, which will work the product into the pout.

Ms Eldridge added that working the natural makeup in carefully will mean it lasts longer than putting on a swipe of colour.

Another tip from the expert is to make sure that the lines around the edges of the lips are not to neat, suggesting that ladies dab them with their finger to blur the line.

With Valentine's Day coming up, now is the perfect time to try out red lips, especially as Elle magazine has recently recommended them, urging ladies not to be scared of the bold look.ADNFCR-2885-ID-19609912-ADNFCR
