Smoky brown eyes to become natural makeup trend?

Smoky brown eyes to become natural makeup trend?

Smoky brown eyes could be among the latest natural makeup trends for spring after they appeared at Erin Fetherston's catwalk show.

Makeup artist Lucia Pica told Elle magazine that she was inspired by the images created by German-born photographer Helmut Newton when creating the look.

The artist, who died in 2004, worked for some of the world's top fashion magazines during his lifetime, including Vogue.

Describing the effect she produced, Ms Pica told Elle: 'It's a Newton woman in soft focus.'

The look was created by dusting the eyelids with brown shadow and using a brown liner to rim the eyes.

Women who want to achieve the full smoky brown eye effect will need a peach bronzer in their natural makeup bag as this was used to produce a 'light halo' around the peepers.

Ms Pica kept the pout nude to soften the bold look. She also applied concealer on the edges of the lips so that puckers became less defined, helping to make the eyes stand out even more.
