Sunseekers should be using a pure aloe vera gel after a day on the beach or by the pool, according to a skin care expert.

Ole Henriksen told abclocal.com that a good after sun mist can be created using a mix of aloe vera and chamomile tea.

He recommended applying this after you have been in the shower to cool and comfort your skin.

'The mist can be kept in the fridge so that it's nice and cooling when you use it,' he told the news provider.

If you've got sunburn, aloe vera is a good way of soothing the skin as it contains naturally healing steroids, according to Mr Henriksen. He recommended applying it in a thick layer across the burned area.

Again, he suggested keeping the natural skin care product in the fridge and said it is worth using on a day-to-day basis, as it feels 'refreshing and uplifting'.

Aubrey Organics' pure aloe vera gel is made from 98 per cent certified organic ingredients, plus some of the natural skin care company's natural preservative, made from citrus seed extract and vitamin E.
