Use SPF-enhanced lip balm in the summer

Women should wear an SPF-enhanced lip balm underneath their lipstick in the summer, according to an expert.

Makeup artist Natalia Kiseleva told Canwest News Service that protecting the pout is really important in the summer, as the lips are extremely sensitive and prone to burning.

Using a natural skin care product like a lip balm with SPF will therefore ensure that you maintain a 'healthy and pretty pucker', she said.

You may want to try Sante Lip Balm SPF 10, which provides chemical-free protection and can be used by all the family.

Alternatively, Lavera's Sun Sensitive Lip Balm SPF 10 is a natural skin care product which contains organic jojoba, almond and sea buckthorn oils to moisturise the lips while offering UVA and UVB protection.

You should also consider using bronzing powder to get a sun-kissed look rather than trying to get tanned from the sun, Ms Kiseleva said.

'It gives you a shimmer and a healthy summer glow,' she told the news provider.
