Women struggling to combat the effects of thinning hair should consider testing different natural hair styling products and a new cut, according to an expert.

Alison Druce, from Saks, is aware of the issues many women face when their hair begins to thin, and recommended trying out a new hairstyle and products in order to find the look that works the best for you.

'Bobs are a good option for thin hair. Keep it one length, and blunt. Also going a shade darker adds the illusion of more hair. Avoid very short and overly layered haircuts,' she said.

This may be bad news for women looking to recreate Sienna Miller's recent cut, which she showcased at a recent Matthew Williamson launch party, giving her blonde locks a new lease of life with layers and a new wispy fringe.

In an exclusive article written for The Daily Mail, consultant trichologist Philip Kingsley listed some of the causes of thinning hair as anaemia, eating disorders and stress, however emotional stress is not as important in regard to going grey, according to research conducted by Unilever scientists.ADNFCR-2885-ID-19818071-ADNFCR
