Women's natural makeup should be 'inconspicuous'

Posted by Felicia Cardinal

The women of today have officially evolved into makeup queens, according to blogger Catherine Saint Louis.

She explained, writing for the New York Times, that one day her natural makeup routine went as normal, a dab of concealer under the eye and a swoosh of bronzer, and then she discovered just how many products were out there.

Now she has come to rely on a plethora of natural beauty products and even some gadgets, but she mused that surely the female society has evolved into this as a whole?

She cites Karen Grant, the vice-president for beauty at research company NPD Group, who explained that today's women take unprecedented care of their skin and so are looking to try and test any type of natural makeup to get results.

'The goal ... is to deliver coverage that is as inconspicuous as possible, a contrast to the cakey foundations of yesteryear,' she said.

Claire Danes, on the other hand is the complete opposite to everything Ms Saint Louis has said, as she recently admitted to only wearing lip gloss and a light foundation. If only.ADNFCR-2885-ID-19831727-ADNFCR
