It is important to adopt natural body care in the run-up to weddings rather than taking the extreme diet route, an expert has claimed.
Pete Cohen, a life coach, has claimed that in the weeks preceding the big day many people of both genders feel increasingly self-conscious and take steps to address this.
He said that some people take a starvation diet in order to get as thin as possible, while others adopt 'ridiculous exercise regimes'.
It is important for people to take a more natural approach to getting healthy and he highlights the benefits of developing a natural body care plan for losing weight.
Despite this, Mr Cohen said that the self-esteem people believe comes with getting in shape is actually a mental choice.
He stated: 'You can choose to be self conscious or you can choose to feel good. The basic quality of our life simply comes down to how we communicate with ourselves that voice in our head.'
His comments follow research from SlimFast that that showed a fifth of all wedding guests have lost weight before going to the nuptials of a friend.
