Natural body care measures can start by simply watching what is put in the mouth, according to an industry expert, who stated that eating wisely can help combat both the appearance of ageing and effects that time has upon the skin.

Emma Wells, a nutritionist, told the Style section of MSN.com that ripe, red watermelon should be on everyone's breakfast tray as it is rich in lycopene and beta-carotene.

According to researchers at the Universities of Newcastle and Manchester, lycopene can provide more protection against sunburn, which is a major cause of skin ageing.

'For a snack try a probiotic yoghurt that will aid your digestion too,' said Ms Wells, adding that for lunch 'the omega 3 fatty acids in oily fish, such as herring, salmon and fresh tuna, help alleviate a number of age-related conditions'.

At dinner time, the expert suggested crushing a clove of garlic and adding it to meals, as it has natural body care properties, as well as a reputation for fighting illnesses such as heart disease.

WomenFitness.net recommends eating avocadoes, as they are a good source of monounsaturated fat which reduces cholesterol in the body. ADNFCR-2885-ID-800038160-ADNFCR
