Natural haircare how-to: Ballerina bun

Natural haircare how-to: Ballerina bun
Posted by Tony Milner

Now that we know buns are set to be back in fashion for spring, now is the time to perfect yours, and luckily for natural hair care fans, an industry expert has offered some tips.

Celebrity natural hair care stylist, Luca Blandi, was the vision behind Jessica Simpson's ballerina bun at the recent Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which was praised by the Hollywood Life blog for being 'fabulously high'.

He told the news provider that the best way to start is by using dry shampoo on the crown to add volume and slick back with a little gel, then tie with an elastic hook and twist the bun and secure with pins.

'Place the bun with the bone structure of the face and see where the better location of the face. For round faces, do it higher to elongate and slim the face,' he told natural hair care fans, suggesting that those with a heart-shaped face should aim for the nape and those with square shaped faces should go higher.

If you're looking for more inspiration on this upcoming trend for spring, then check out the pictures of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, where buns of all shapes, styles and sizes ruled the roost.
